San Diego Wild Animal Park Field Trip

I recently went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park for my 6th grade field trip. I live in Northridge, so it took me about 3 hours long. I went with my school, traveling on 2 trains and 1 bus. The trip cost $175, so I think it was worth it. It was very fun. I saw many animals that live in the savannas, such as, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, and gazelles. I also camped overnight and there were many tours and activities. This was a fun trip, and I loved it.

Tundra

The tundra is a snowy place that have different types of categories. There are 3 types of tundra: arctic tundra, antarctic tundra, and alpine tundra. Arctic tundra is just simple a plain of snow, no vegetation, and a little geography. It only has plain fields of snow and mountains. Animals like polar bears, penguins, and snow foxes live in that part of tundra. Antarctic tundra are places that has vegetation during the summer, but still it is very cold. Alpine tundra is located on the top of a mountain, but it is very harsh, but plants still manage to live there. Climate is always cold, except during the summer. This is the tundra.

Savannas

Savannas are hot, wet, places located in South America or Africa. Animals there, are animals like zebras, giraffes, lions, warthogs, gazelles, rhinos, baboons, and some meerkats. Geography there are grasslands, plains, and hills. Vegetation consist of grass, few trees, and shrubs. There are only a few trees, because of wildfires that happens over the winter. Climate is mostly hot and wet. These are the elements of a savanna.

Marine Ecosystems

Different zones of the marine: Euphotic, Bathyal, Abyssal, and Benthtic. Those are the 4 zones of the marine ecosystem. Some animals in the Benthetic and Euphotic zone are rockfish, eels, starfish, lobsters, etc. Vegetation in the Euphotic and Benthetic is like corals, anemone, and seaweed. In bathyal, vegetation and animals consist of, sharks, whales, and maybe even some turtles. There is also some seaweed there too. But, in the abyssal zone, there are no plants because it is too dark, but there are still animals. Animals that live there are like the anglerfish. Climate can be hot or cold depending on the zone if it's higher or not. This is what I think.

Desert

Deserts are hot, dry, sandy, plains that are near the arid climate zone. Climate is dry and hot, and can be cold at night. Animals that live there are, scorpions, snakes, and some camels. Vegetation consists of cactus, tumbleweed, and other dry plants. Geography has canyons, mesas, ridges, and sandy plains. This is some information about deserts.

Rainforests

Rainforests are very important to our life. There are many types of wildlife in the rainforest. There are jaguars, tucans, bears, and scorpions. But, we have to be careful not to take down rainforests. Scientists study that every 15 minutes, a species is extinct. And there will be no more coffee or chocolate if rainforests are taken down. Things like, cropping, mining, grazing animals, and construction can take rainforests down. This is why rainforests are important.

Biomes?

Hey. Biomes are kinda like ecosystems. They are place with a type of climate, animals, vegetation, and geography. For example, desert biomes are dry. The animals consist of scorpions and snakes. Vegetation there is made of cactus and tumbleweeed. The climate is dry and has barely 10cm of rain a year. These what biomes are. Well, I'll try to make funnier posts soon enough. See ya.

That's cool.

Well, I think geography is cool about nature. It can look amazing, it can look weird, it can look funny. Sometimes, when I go to places like the Philippines, I like to go sightseeing. There's this one place in Thailand, and there was this HUGE bridge. It was so cool, it was like 80 miles long. Then there's Arizona's Grand Canyon. It was too hot, bu it was so DEEP. i was scared just looking down. Anyways, it was amazing, so that's what was cool about it. See you on my next post.

Climate?!

Well, recently I learned about climate. Climate is temperature that is normally at that place. There are 5 types of climates: tropical, dry, temperate, continental, and polar. I choose continental, because, it's cold mostly, but I would want some sun most of the time. Places with continental climates have wide temperature range. Places with continental climate are places like Canada, Alaska, and the Netherlands. So, they are not cold all the time, but the summers are never hot. And it is mostly cold. So, I would love to live there. See you on my next post.

The Rant on Snails

Well, let's see. Snails are slow animals that live in a shell. What I think is that they are LIVING JELL-O. They are just pieces if living gel, in a shell, slowly trying to get from one place to another. I wonder why they are slow. Is it because they don't have legs? THAT'S NOT AN EXCUSE. Turtles have legs, and they're still slow. Hmmmm, snail and a turtle. (snail + turtle = snurtle?) Yeah, that's my new word, snurtle. A mix of a snail and a turtle. Wow. Okay, that's enough for today. I made some new changes!

If you haven't already noticed, I changed my background. Also, my title picture has a few humor points, haha. And now my weekly cat pics have 25% more kittens. I also made a change to my icon and put in new movies in my profile category when you view it. So, these are some few changes you want to note to make your life easier and funnier. The Rant on Skittles

Hooray for Skittles. :)

Well, I am currently doing a Skittles project in my computer class, so i wanted to rant about Skittles. Skittles are fruity flavored mini-bit candies. When I was little, I thought Skittles were just a rip off of M&M's, which are equally good. But, I'm actually more on the M&M side. I like chocolate more. :) But still, Skittles are the ORIGINAL fruit flavor candy, and I hope it lives on forever. (And so does M&M's.) Are you on the M&M or Skittles side? Huh? TELL ME! OK, see ya.

Elections: Currently

Well, currently, Obama seems to be winning in the Democratic elections, because he won 3 states in a row, including Hawaii'. Though, I still want Clinton to win, so let's hope she can win with her new campaign manager. About Republicans, McCain is winning, and Romney has dropped out. Only Huckabee and Paul are in, and Paul has very little chance. Huckabee, has only one hope to catch with McCain, even if I want McCain to win.

Happy Valentine's Day! So, who's your SPECIAL SOMEONE? Well, I don't have one if you ask me. Haha. I just spend time with family, and make chocolates for people. I also might give some candy, if I had time. I know I didn't do it this year, but I still wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. Just remember to spend time with that special someone. Bob Marley

In honor of Black History month, I would like to honor Bob Marley. Bob Marley is one of the KINGS on Reggae and Rock. He's been known for his hit single, "Knocking On Heavens Door". I've heard him sing and play the guitar at the same time and he's one of my favorite rockers too. He'll always be a legend, and I hope he keeps going up in rock history. Okay see ya. (I even have him on my Ipod. :D)
